Formulas for indicators and categories

Indicator formulas

Formula button for indicators is located between Value and Measure settings in the bottom. Choose any indicator and press Press formula button to access formula dialogue box formula button to access formula dialogue box.

It is possible to create any formulas using basic mathematic operations, for example sum or subtraction.

  • Use [ ] to frame indicators’ names used in formulas, for instance [Sales growth] or [Revenue per employee]. Make sure “[]” is not used in name of indicators since the software will view them as part of formulas.

  • Use signs of mathematic operations, just like +, -, *, / etc. To create complex formulas, use brackets “( )”, for example ([Sales growth] + [Revenue per employee]) / 2 which means that sum of these two indicators is divided by 2.

To avoid manual typing of indicators’ names, use Add indicator to formula button and choose any indicator from the list of KPIs in the scorecard.

Category formulas

Choose any category and find Category formula options under the category name box in the bottom. The following options are available for category formula:

·        Weighted average – average value of indicators in the category with their weight taken into account

·        Average – average value of indicators in the category with no regard to their weights

·        Max – category value = indicator with a maximum value

·        Min – category value = indicator with a minimum value

·        Sum – sum of the values of all indicators in the category

Choose any category and find Category formula options under the category name box in the bottom.
