Formulas for indicators and categories
Indicator
formulas
Formula button for indicators is located between Value and
Measure settings in the bottom. Choose any indicator and
press
formula
button to access formula dialogue box.
It is possible to create
any formulas using basic mathematic operations, for example sum or
subtraction.
-
Use [ ] to frame indicators’ names
used in formulas, for instance [Sales growth] or [Revenue per
employee]. Make sure “[]” is not used in name of indicators since
the software will view them as part of formulas.
-
Use signs of mathematic operations, just
like +, -, *, / etc. To create complex formulas, use brackets “(
)”, for example ([Sales growth] + [Revenue per employee]) / 2 which
means that sum of these two indicators is divided by 2.
To avoid manual typing of
indicators’ names, use Add
indicator to
formula button and choose any indicator from the list of KPIs
in the scorecard. Test
formula button is used to make sure there are no mistakes in
formula syntax. Review the formula in case of mistakes.
